Bringing ‘A World Artists Love’ to The Great Escape 2019

We’re happy to announce our “A World Artists Love” programming and stage at this year’s The Great Escape, which is taking place May 10th at Jury’s Inn and The Cloakroom in Brighton. Our programming will include an inspiring day full of sessions and networking followed by a happy hour with Jamz Supernova’s label, Future Bounce.

Confirmed sessions, times and speakers include:

A World Artists Love: The AWAL Takeover

  • 15:00 – 15:45 | The Howl and The Hum in conversation with Radio 1

Following their Thursday evening performance at The Hope and Ruin, The Howl and The Hum join Radio 1’s Phil Taggart to discuss finding their feet in the industry, the impact of streaming and how it feels to be a guitar band right now.

  • 16:00 – 16:45 | Millie Turner in conversation with NME

Fresh off the back of her Thursday night performance at Patterns, Millie Turner talks to Charlotte Gunn (Editor, NME) about being an independent female artist and how youth empowerment plays an important part in her music.

  • 17:00 – 17:45 | The Dream Team

The fundamental parts of an artist’s team discuss what the measures of success are and what it takes to achieve them. Ft. Jamz Supernova (1XTRA), Liz Goodwin (UK MD, Glassnote), Liz Northeast (Sr Director, AWAL) & Charlie Murdoch (Manager, Jordan Mackampa / Million Miles).

Evening Programming

AWAL opens its evening programming at The Cloakroom by partnering up with Jamz Supernova’s label, Future Bounce, for an invite-only / delegate happy hour featuring music from Jamz, Melle Brown and AWAL artist FEMME.

More than 70 AWAL artists will be performing at this year’s event including Little Simz, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Millie Turner, The Howl and The Hum, Ella Vos and girl in red among others. More information about The Great Escape can be found here.
