In celebration of our involvement with BBC Music Introducing hosts Amplify, during the month of September, on every Wednesday and Friday, we’ll be showcasing real stories from real AWAL members on the blog. We’ll be asking some of our members to share their stories — the challenges they’ve faced, how they’ve overcome them, the milestones they’ve achieved, and where they hope the future leads.
This week we're speaking with UK group — Who's Molly?
Q: How did your journey first begin for you guys?
We're all friends from the same town in South Wales - brought up on classic Stones and Beatles. We got together to play anywhere and everywhere and have been building a fan base for our originals gig to gig, country to country.
Q: How would you describe the point in your career that you're currently at?
We've gotten some pretty incredible synch placements! We've got a song on the latest Tom Cruise trailer and a song on the newest UFC fight trailer.
We've played at Carfest N&S and have just been asked to play the main stage in 2018 which we're all rather excited about!
Q: What are some of the biggest challenges you've had to overcome to get to where you are today?
Coming from a small town in Wales is both a blessing and a challenge. It's limited our access a bit. So, we drive to London twice a week to record and write. We also travel the length of the UK to play shows. However, hard work is something we live by.
Q: What have been some of the most rewarding moments in your journey thus far?
Definitely seeing a song we wrote on the Tom Cruise movie trailer. That was just crazy! Also, it was extremely empowering to see a small bunch of fans singing our songs at festivals this year! Make us really feel like we're building a community and loyal following.
Q: What's the next big milestone(s) that you've got coming up?
As of now, we've got out eyes set on a UK tour. We're also looking to secure a publishing deal.
Q: Where do you ultimately want to end up in your career as an artist?
Our BIG DREAM is to one day have our songs played in most households around the world!
Q: How has your experience with AWAL been so far?
LOVE Awal! They're a great team to work with!
