We couldn’t be more excited to play a part in putting on one of the biggest events of the year for independent artists — BBC Music Introducing hosts Amplify. It will host tons of panels led by top music industry leaders, networking sessions with some of the best A&R people, and the chance for fellow artists to meet and discuss their experiences.
AWAL will be the sponsor of the Journey Theatre at the event, which will host talks from some of the UK’s most successful artists sharing their stories about how they made their break and what they have learned over their career.
With this highly anticipated event being just a little over a month away (Oct 6 – 8), we’ll be celebrating our involvement by unveiling a brand new series to the AWAL Blog — Artist Journey Q&As.
During the entire month of September, on every Wednesday and Friday, we’ll be showcasing real stories from real AWAL members on the blog. We’ll be asking some of our members to share their stories — the challenges they’ve faced, how they’ve overcome them, the milestones they’ve achieved, and where they hope the future leads. We’ll even be selecting one AWAL member who shares a thoughtful journey story as a grand prize winner to receive £2,500 in funding!*
As mentioned, one of the main perks of attending Amplify is that it opens up a dialogue for artists to share their stories and learn from one another. Sharing these artist journey Q&As is our way of celebrating that and bringing a taste of that experience to the world.
