We have incredible artists releasing tons of new music each week, some of which claim a spot on our AWAL First playlist — a playlist dedicated to featuring some of the top-performing tracks in the AWAL catalogue for the week based on playlist adds, streams, and listeners.

 


This week we’ll be taking a closer look at the newest artists added to AWAL First Playlist, covering new music through AWAL from Tom Misch feat. De La Soul, Carlos Vara, and Molly Moore.


  1. It Runs Through Me — Tom Misch

Tom Misch’s “It Runs Through Me,” featuring De La Soul, had a huge first weekend of release, earning upwards of 403,000 streams from over 257,000 listeners.

In addition to 12 New Music Friday playlists around the world, “It Runs Through Me” was added to Apple Music’s Best of the Week, Today at Apple, and Beats of the Week.

AWAL Insights™: 29% of “It Runs Through Me’s” streams came from the United States. Tom Misch’s native UK was in second place with 22%.

  1. Numb — Carlos Vara

Carlos Vara’s “Numb” earned over 104,000 streams from more than 81,000 listeners over its debut weekend.

“Numb” was added to New Music Friday in the United States, Apple Music’s Best of the Week, and simon1983’s popular curated “New Funk & Soul Weekly 2018” Spotify playlist.

AWAL Insights™: “Numb’s” streaming listeners were split right down the middle its first weekend — 50% men and 50% women!

  1. Tough Love — Molly Moore

“Tough Love” by Molly Moore earned upwards of 72,000 streams from over 64,000 listeners in its debut weekend.

Along with two New Music Friday adds in the US and Canada, “Tough Love” was added to Summer Chill 2018 in Canada along with a few popular user-curated playlists.

AWAL Insights™: “Tough Love” saw a huge surge on the Friday of its release weekend — it was most streamed between noon and 6:00pm.
