AWAL can deliver your content worldwide to the major on-line stores and download sites.
For labels: We can arrange priority processing and delivery tailored to your specific needs.
For artists: It's as easy as this:
Download the agreement below. It is available in English and French. The important text is only one page long with no lawyer speak. Make sure you understand that you have the rights to whatever you send in to us.
Sign it, fill in the metadata sheet together with the details of whom should be paid and where, bank details etc.. (see guidelines)
Send the contract and the CD to our Sheffield office:
Awal UK Limited,
Sheffield Technology Park,
Arundel Street,
Sheffield,
S1 2NS,
United Kingdom
We will encode and deliver as soon as possible, usually within days. The digital stores have their own rules and guidelines, so please allow plenty of lead time. A month prior should be ample amount of time to an agreed upon release date.
We will account for sales to you quarterly, and within 30 days of AWAL receiving the monies from the stores. For example, iTunes has 8 territories around the world and they all account differently for the same period. We need to wait until the funds arrive in our account so we can calculate the exact exchange rates. We then deduct our 15% and send you the rest either by good-old-fashioned cheque, bank transfer, or Paypal.
We will advise you on royalty statements if the songwriters mechanical royalties have been deducted at the source. Please note that the songwriter's mechanicals are the responsibility of you the client unless advised otherwise on your statement. Some digital stores in various territories pay these directly under a blanket agreement - some do not. Please check your statements.
Choosing the appropriate suite of stores is a decision to be made with care. Most stores generate very little, if not zero, revenue and can have an impact on actual sales from other stores. Some stores prefer to have exclusivity, especially if they are looking to feature the artist.
