DAVID FORD'S 'LET THE HARD TIMES ROLL' OUT NOW.

Eastbourne's David Ford is a true modern day troubadour. Inspired by classic songwriters like Leonhard Cohen, Tom Waits and Neil Young, Ford has been busy in the past few years, with three studio releases, six singles and a handful of small run EPs sold at live gigs and through his own website. Along with his hard graft approach to live performance (he never seems to be off the road in the UK and USA), Ford offers something unique; an annual 'Big Gig', limited edition CDs and the festive 'Milk & Cookies' charity gigs where Ford performs a marathon of both original and cover songs, usually selecting said covers from a large songbook by way of a bingo machine...

The singer-songwriter’s long awaited new album 'Let The Hard Times Roll' is steeped in indie folk and country vibes, with an air of British beauty. It has plenty to offer, both musically and lyrically with it's depression-era attitude that shows creativity is still alive and kicking through the tough times. From the opening 'Panic', right through to the rousing sing along 'Call to Arms' that closes the album, 'Let The Hard Times Roll' reminds fans exactly what they fell in love with in the first place, and offers new listeners more than enough reasons to follow suit.

Highlights from the album include the fast and furious lyrical stylings of 'Panic', the fragile beauty of 'To Hell with the World', the well orchestrated 'Hurricane' and 'Waiting for the Storm', reminiscent of some of our favourite tracks from the two previous albums. You can rest assured that this album is all killer, and no filler.

Ford works hard, self recording and producing each track in his own studio. The album has also been self released, after his contract with the label 'Independiente' came to an end after his second album 'Songs from the Road'.

It is no surprise that 'Let The Hard Times Roll' can be purchased in various formats. AWAL are delighted to be distributing the album exclusively through iTunes, and it can be bought for the credit crunch busting price of £4.49.

But for those who like something to hold, there is a standard CD, a '1000 copies only' special edition CD, plus the chance to win the first special edition CD along with lyric sheets, original artwork, and plenty more encased in a 'gentleman's box', hand built by the man himself! (Did we mention David is also a skilled carpenter? He even makes his own instruments!)

‘Let The Hard Times Roll’ is a wonderfully crafted album of brilliant songs, by one of Britain’s finest singer-songwriters. For people who have never heard of David Ford, now might just be the perfect time to do so.

Ford is currently on tour, covering both the UK and the USA. You can find out more about dates at www.myspace.com/davidford or through the new look website www.davidfordmusic.com
